ചുമരിലെ ദ്വാരങ്ങള്‍

The Holes on the Walls


ഒരിക്കൽ ഒരിടത്ത്  ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഫ്രഡ്‌ എന്നായിരുന്നു അവന്റെ പേര്. ഫ്രെഡിന് ദേഷ്യം വരുമ്പോള്‍ എന്തെങ്കിലും അനര്‍ത്ഥ ങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്തു കൂട്ടുന്ന ശീലമുണ്ടായി രുന്നു. ഒരിക്കൽ ഫ്രഡിന്റെ അച്ഛൻ ഒരു പെട്ടി നിറയെ ഇരുമ്പാണികൾ അവനെ ഏല്പിച്ച ശേഷം പറഞ്ഞു " നിനക്ക് ദേഷ്യം വരുമ്പോഴെല്ലാം ഈ ആണികളിലോരോന്നായി നമ്മുടെ ചുറ്റുമതിലിൽ തറച്ചു വെക്കണം".

ആദ്യത്തെ പ്രാവശ്യം ദേഷ്യം വന്നപ്പോള്‍ അവന്‍ 47 ആണികള്‍ ചുമരില്‍ അടിച്ചു കയറ്റി. അടുത്ത പ്രാവശ്യം അത്ര വേണ്ടി വന്നില്ല.  37 ആണികള്‍ തറച്ചു കയറ്റുമ്പോഴേക്കും അവന്‍റെ കോപം ശമിച്ചു. പിന്നീടങ്ങോട്ട് ആണികള്‍ ചുമരില്‍ അടിച്ചു കയറ്റാന്‍ പാടുപെടുന്നതിനെക്കാള്‍ നല്ലത് കോപം വരുമ്പോള്‍ ക്ഷമിക്കുന്നതാണ് എന്ന് ഫ്രെഡിന് മനസ്സിലായിത്തുടങ്ങി.

മകന്‍ ദേഷ്യം പിടിച്ച് നിര്‍ത്താന്‍ ശീലിച്ചു എന്ന് മനസ്സിലായപ്പോള്‍, ഒരിക്കല്‍ അച്ഛന്‍ വീണ്ടും ഫ്രെഡിനെ അടുത്തു നിര്‍ത്തി ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു. "നീ മുമ്പ് ദേഷ്യം വന്നപ്പോള്‍ ചുമരില്‍ അടിച്ചു കയറ്റിയ ആണികള്‍ ഓരോന്നായി തിരിച്ചെടുക്കണം". ഫ്രെഡ് അല്പം പണിപ്പെട്ടാണെങ്കിലും ആണികളെല്ലാം ഇളക്കി മാറ്റി. 

അച്ഛന്‍ വീണ്ടും ഫ്രെഡിനെ ചേര്‍ത്ത് നിര്‍ത്തി എന്നിട്ട് ആ ചുമരിലേക്ക് കൈ ചൂണ്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറഞ്ഞു. "

മകനേ, നീ ആ ചുമരിലേക്ക് അടിച്ചു കയറ്റിയ ആണികള്‍ തിരിച്ചെടുത്തെങ്കിലും അത് അവിടെ അവശേഷി പ്പിച്ച ചുമരിലെ ദ്വാരങ്ങള്‍ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചില്ലേ?. ഇത് പോലെ തന്നെയാണ് നാം മറ്റൊരാളെ മുറിവേല്‍പിച്ചാല്‍, എത്ര തന്നെ മാപ്പു പറഞ്ഞാലും അതിന്റെ അടയാളങ്ങള്‍ എന്നും അവിടെ അവശേഷിപ്പിക്കും. വാക്കുകള്‍ കൊണ്ട് മറ്റൊരാളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തി ലേല്‍പ്പിക്കുന്ന മുറിവുകള്‍, പ്രവൃത്തികള്‍  കൊണ്ട് ശരീരത്തിലേല്‍പ്പിക്കുന്ന മുറിവുകളോളം സമവുമാണ്".
